Some occasional pages about my time in the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland (now Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi), and South Africa. All of my youth was spent with what I now know to be Asperger's Syndrome, and if anyone had known about it back then I could well have been diagnosed with borderline "high function" childhood autism. Many of my recollections involve the collisions of an ill-fitted youth with a not normally tolerant colonial society. 1952-56: Livingstone 1956-58: Chingola 1960: Tegwan's Nest 1965-66: Que Que High School |
